A Discussion Group

We ask the big questions. You find your own answers.

Come and Talk about Spirituality With Us!

Spirituality is our favourite topic of discussion. It is big and juicy and we love that there are no definitive answers. If you like pondering the big questions of the universe then this discussion group is for you. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to share. The purpose of this group is to explore spirituality beyond any one religious doctrine. We will explore our beliefs about spirituality. We will ponder our cultural views of the transcendent. And we will even tap into our inner 'sense' of the ineffable.

This group is not about trying to convince you of anything. It is an invitation to journey with us into the depths of our souls (if in fact there is such a thing). We are looking to take both a light-hearted and a deep meaningful look at spirituality in this discussion group. There will be lots of questions and hearty discussion. There will even be some spiritual practice (or just reflection, if that is more your thing).

We would love for you to join us on this voyage into the great unknown.  For more information please email us at cslnanaimo@gmail.com

Please RSVP below.

Peace and many blessings,

Amanda Pope and Derek Hinchliffe

Territorial Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that our community is located on the traditional unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.

As uninvited settlers on this territory, we recognize that we have participated in and benefitted from colonial systems of oppression. We acknowledge the responsibility of the settlers on this land to actively engage in the process of decolonizing systems, structures and practices. We recognize the devastating and lasting impacts colonization has had on the culture, language, traditions, economy, and world views of Indigenous peoples.

As a spiritual community, we are committed to working towards reconciliation. We will listen and educate ourselves on decolonization, and we will look for opportunities to celebrate and uplift the Indigenous community and peoples of this land. We acknowledge our settler privilege and seek to more fully understand the impact it has had on the land and Indigenous peoples.
