Life is a Beautiful Blessing!

This is a time of many changes. Our application to begin a Teaching Chapter in Nanaimo, BC has just been approved by Centers for Spiritual Living Leadership Council. We are so excited to be taking the first step on this journey!

I quite like change and new adventures but I must admit that it feels like A LOT right now. Not only are we starting this Teaching Chapter, we are also selling our house in the Okanagan and purchasing a new home in Nanaimo. And on top of that my son and his girlfriend are moving across the country in the opposite direction. And it is all happening this summer. Oh yes, and in my spare time I am also finishing up my last ministerial courses. Phew!

If there was ever a time when I needed to be committed to my spiritual practice, it is right now. I was listening to Oprah's interview with Michael Singer this weekend and he suggested choosing a mantra to repeat throughout the day as a way to replace thoughts of worry or fear.

The mantra that I came up with, that feels the most appropriate for me right now, is "Life is a beautiful blessing!". So as I go about my cleaning, organizing, and packing; and arranging for renovations in our new place; and laying the foundation for our new CSL community in Nanaimo; and working on my assignments, I will be repeating this statement. Is there a mantra that you would find helpful right now?

Life is truly a beautiful blessing!

Much love,

Amanda

Territorial Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that our community is located on the traditional unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.

As uninvited settlers on this territory, we recognize that we have participated in and benefitted from colonial systems of oppression. We acknowledge the responsibility of the settlers on this land to actively engage in the process of decolonizing systems, structures and practices. We recognize the devastating and lasting impacts colonization has had on the culture, language, traditions, economy, and world views of Indigenous peoples.

As a spiritual community, we are committed to working towards reconciliation. We will listen and educate ourselves on decolonization, and we will look for opportunities to celebrate and uplift the Indigenous community and peoples of this land. We acknowledge our settler privilege and seek to more fully understand the impact it has had on the land and Indigenous peoples.
